The FSO is thrilled to announce that our inaugural Young Composer Competition has been won by Sam Gooderham, with his work ‘Candlewright’. The judges described Candlewright as a “. . . compelling piece [that] we would very much like to play”. Sam has strong links with the local area, having grown up in Wokingham and attended Farnborough Sixth Form College, before studying at the University of Southampton, the Grieg Academy in Norway, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
