The Wind Tunnel Project is to launch on Saturday and several players from the FSO will play a prominent part in proceedings.
The FSO's own Principal Cello, Robin Chave, will feature in a recreation of a famous BBC recording of Beatrice Harrison playing in her garden. Earlier, the FSO's Principal Double Bass, David Barnes, helped the resident sound artist create a recording in the wind tunnel itself, simulating the sound of wartime bombers. The FSO string quartet is also to provide music for the artists dinner on the evening of 7th June, when VIPs and sponsors of the project will be coming together for a unique event in the return ducts of the historic 24 foot tunnel.
On the 12th July, the strings of the FSO, under the baton of Ben Palmer, will also be performing a concert in the wind tunnel. For more information and tickets, see Concerts
