The FSO opens its 91st season at Princes Hall, Aldershot, on Saturday 27th October at 7.45pm with a concert featuring the talents of Bartholomew LaFollette, a dynamic cellist from Philadelphia. A graduate of the Yehudi Menuhin School, he will be performing Elgar’s Cello Concerto, the last major work completed by the composer and made famous by Jacqueline du Pré.
The orchestra will celebrate the life of John Ireland (who died in 1962) by performing one of his greatest works, A London Overture. The concert progaramme also marks the 100th anniversary of the death of the lesser known composer, Coleridge-Taylor, with a performance of excerpts from his charming Scenes from an Imaginary Ballet. The concert concludes with Tchaikovsky’s dramatic 4th Symphony.
Tickets for the concert are now available directly from the Concerts page of our website or from our Ticket secretary, Elspeth Todd. Please call Elspeth on 07775 789477 or email her on email@example.com.
