Tickets Available for New Year Concert

Tickets for the FSO's January concert are now available directly from the Concerts page of our website or from our Ticket secretary, Elspeth Todd. Please call Elspeth on 07775 789477 or email her on tickets@farnboroughsymphony.org.uk.

We are delighted to welcome Cristina Di Bernardo and Silvia Vicario, two talented Italian soloists, to perform the beautiful double harp concerto by the Teignmouth born composer, Parish-Alvars. The concerto only received its UK premiere in 2011 in spite of having been composed in 1848. In the Orchestra's 90th birthday year, it was also essential to include Schubert's lovely Rosamunde Overture in the first concert of 2012 as it was the first work ever played by the orchestra in public (on 13th December 1922).  More well known favourites, the Polonaise from Tchaikovsky's opera Eugene Onegin, Schubert's Unfinished Symphony and Dvorak's Symphonic Variations complete an inspiring opening to 2012.
