March Concert - 2012/13 Season

09 March 2013

Soloist : Alison Wyld (French Horn)

Haydn : Symphony No. 104 in D major
Mozart : Horn Concerto No. 4 in E flat major, K. 495
Beethoven : Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92

In our March concert, the famous Mozart Horn Concerto No. 4 provides an opportunity to show off the fantastic virtuoso skills of Alison, our Principal Horn player. The Orchestra as a whole also tackles two very impressive symphonies on the same evening: Haydn's final symphony, known as the London Symphony, which premiered in London in 1795 and was an instant success; and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, which was considered by the composer to be one of his best works.
