With the final concert of the season we return to the theme of commemoration as we celebrate two special 100^th birthdays: those of Lutoslawski and Britten. Some of their greatest music features in the programme, together with Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kijé, which will demonstrate the virtuoso skills of our players. It is also thrilling to welcome for the first time the young, multiple prize-winning violinist, Alexandra Wood, who will be our soloist for the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.
