Mark Fitz-Gerald Stands Down as Musical Director

05 July 2015

Mark Fitz-Gerald has announced his resignation as Musical Director of the Farnborough Symphony Orchestra and he will not be conducting the 2015/16 season. Mark first presided over the orchestra during the absence of the previous conductor in 1999, becoming its Musical Director in 2007. During his tenure, he has encouraged the FSO to take on many ambitious works, including two memorable film concerts providing live accompaniment to silent films and the Bartok ‘Concerto for Orchestra’. We are sure that orchestra members and audience alike will join in paying tribute to Mark for his tremendous work with the FSO and wishing him every success in the future.
