Tuesday 20 April 2010: John Forster returns as Guest Conductor for June Concert

The FSO is excited to welcome back John Forster as guest conductor for the final concert of the 2009/10 season. John was Music Director of the FSO from 1981 to 2007. He is a highly accomplished pianist and violinist and was associated with the Royal College of Music for many years, both as a student and, initially under Sir David Willcocks, on the teaching staff (in fact being the youngest professor ever appointed). He has also worked extensively with the Guildford Philharmonic Orchestra, as violinist, pianist and conductor. In the absence of current Music Director, Mark Fitz-Gerald, it is a great privilege for the Orchestra to be performing under John once again.
