The FSO’s January concert takes the form of a reprise of its popular family concert format. Our aim is to appeal to music lovers of all ages and it therefore draws upon a wide range of popular works, many familiar to younger generations as film theme tunes. We will be taking a trip through the different sections of the orchestra, highlighting their characteristic sounds and capabilities. A particular feature will be our entire horn section as four soloists in Schumann’s Konzertstück. The concert will take place at 14:30 so make sure you make a note of the unusual start time. We look forward to welcoming you to an exciting afternoon of musical fun.
